Mira Fink
For me, love is taking the time to create a beautiful homemade card for someone special you care about. I have made greeting cards for others since I was a child for all types of occasions. I especially love making Valentines. I make them every year for my husband and often for dear friends. The Valentines in this show are created with a variety of papers I have made from monoprints, painted paste papers, craft papers and papers printed with paint and bubble soap. Many of these painted and printed papers are left over pieces from projects created while teaching mixed media classes to children and adults over the years. I love making collages that combine colors, shapes and textures.
Mira Fink is known for her richly colored watercolor and acrylic landscapes which capture the beauty of the Hudson Valley. She has exhibited her nature inspired paintings widely over the last 30 years in regional, solo & juried shows, and is represented by Maglyn's Dream and the Mohonk Mountain House gift shop, both in New Paltz, N.Y. She has numerous collectors of her work in the Hudson Valley and her art is in private collections all over the country. Mira has been teaching watercolor, acrylic, oil painting and mixed media classes for adults and children out of her studio and in the community for the last 18 years, and has experienced great joy inspiring many people to discover themselves as artists. http://www.mirafink.com and www.fineartamerica.com
