Stuart Bigley
Stuart Bigley’s background is as a visual artist. He has been making art for more than 50 years. He studied at the Corcoran College of Art and graduated from Silvermine College of Art. He is a multi-disciplinary artist focusing on painting, drawing and photography. Bigley’s painting for over 40 years has been primarily lyrical abstractions in acrylic on canvas and paper. He has drawn the human figure weekly for over forty years. In his photography, he has moved from film to digital over the past 20 years also using the human figure as a major point of reference. His most recent work is figurative and deal with dancers often combining photography, drawing and digital colorizing and printing as well as painting.
Stuart Bigley has exhibited work in solo and group shows at various gallery’s in the Hudson Valley, Connecticut, Washington DC and New York City. A co-founder of Unison Arts Center, Stuart Bigley was its Executive Director from 1980-2012. Unison Learning Center is a not-for-profit multi-arts learning and performance center in New Paltz, NY.
